Anthony David Gonzalez (born August 25, 1970) is an American former football tight end. Gonzalez played in the National Football League from 1997 through 2003. He is considered to be one of the top American tight ends of all time and has the NFL record for the most receiving yards for any tight end. Gonzalez is also ranked third in all time for the amount of receptions.
A former Kansas City Chiefs and Atlanta Falcons All-Pro tight end Tony Gonzalez currently serves as an FOX Sports Studio analyst. Gonzalez was a guest on FOX NFL KICKOFF (FOX's 1-hour NFL pregame program preceding FOX NFL the SUNRISE) that airs every Sunday at 11:00AM ET throughout the NFL season.
Gonzalez has resigned from the Falcons on March 15, 2013. He signed a contract that was of $14 million for two years. He did this in spite of his claims that he would retire at the end of the season. With the retirement of Randy Moss, 37-year-old Gonzalez was the NFL's active leader in yards receptive.
